Description
The general term for a canoe is Wa’a. Depending on the number of hulls, size, shape and individuals determine the specific name for each Wa’a. A Wa’a (canoe) was a very intergraded tool for the people of Hawai’i, it was used for; fishing, hunting, voyaging, trading and sports. During the time of our monarchy, traveling by Wa’a (canoe) was the only way to visit other Moku (islands). Kānaka took pride in their craftsmanship and created the Wa’a (canoe)out of fallen Koa Wood due to the sturdiness and strength of the wood.
All Pepili (Stickers) are made out of 100% Koa Wood
Koa Wood as well as all woodʻs are water resistant NOT water proof
We recommend placing pepili (sticker) on things that do not get wet.
