There are three species of Honu (turtle) that are indigenous to Hawai’i. The Green, Hawksbill and Leatherback. Honu represents good luck in the form of an ‘aumakua (family god).’Aumākua were once humans that served their purpose and entered the spiritual realm after death. In the form of an ‘aumakua, they watched over their loved ones that remain on Earth.
Honu are enlisted as endangered and are illegal to touch, feed, capture and kill. Although they are endangered their population has increased in the last decade. Our goal is to protect and educate those who are unaware of our beloved Honu population.
Send A Gesture of Aloha and Race To The Reef to a loved one and educate them on our cherished Honu.
